We left Overath at 9am on Friday, having said a last goodbye to our hosts. There was more food on the bus than you can imagine! The journey started off quietly as everyone caught up on a little bit of sleep after the leaving party. 
After a couple of hours, once we’d got into Holland we had a brief stop at the services. There was a chance to get a drink & tackle some of the cold pizza that we’d taken with us after the leaving party. From there we headed into Rotterdam to visit the Euromast and the park around it. Non of the current swimmers had been up the mast so we decided it would be a good final adventure for the trip.
After the tower the swimmers had around an hour in the park before it was time to head to the boat. Everyone was in bed before curfew on the boat, showing how tired everyone was after the week away. We were up at 6.30am on Saturday morning for breakfast, followed by a quiet drive home to Slaithwaite arriving around 11am.
