Today we’ve had a trip out to Oberhausen, around 80km from Overath. Our first stop was the Gasometer, an old gas storage tank from the 1920s which has been converted to an exhibition space. We had a guided tour of the exhibition of photographs from nature, before having around 40 minutes free to explore the rest of the building. This included a giant globe sculpture which shows how day, night and weather effect the planet in a 20 minutes cycle, and a chance to get out onto the roof of the structure approximately 150m up.
This evening we have had a sport evening at the local high school in Overath, playing a mix of different games and sports tiring out the swimmers!
