Journey Home

Friday was a bank holiday in Germany, which meant that we could have a slightly later start, following our leaving party. We met around 9.30, leaving just before 10. It was difficult and sad to leave our German friends having spent the week with them, there where a few tears.

The first hour of the journey was quiet as always, with plenty of people catching up on some sleep. We had a short stop over at a services in Holland before making our way to Rotterdam. We spent 1 1/2 hours in a park in Rotterdam, getting some fresh air and burning off some energy having been stuck on the coach.

From the park it was around 45 minutes to the ferry, arriving in plenty of time (unlike the way out!). We had a much smoother crossing home, where one of the first groups off the ferry and arrived home at around 10.15.
